As founder and CEO - I am humbled, honored and privileged for being able to stand tall in birthing an organization of young people leading our “Generation Next.”

It was the year 2003 when Young People Succeeding began to empower and enrich our youth minds. Today we remain on the move and stronger continuing to enrich our youth and young people.

Late in life I realized that your mind controls your behavior by constructing models based on who you think you are. If your thought process says you are poor, then you will act poor. If your thought process says that you are rich, then you will act rich. If your mental model of yourself is limited, your behavior will reflect that. It’s all about attitude and right thinking which affect your altitude.

The trouble with the majority of youth today is that they are not living the life God has designed for them and are mentally bedridden, imprisoned by thoughts, attitudes and surroundings  that are negative. This produces negative results and thinking habits that will not allow their minds to reach a level of prosperity.

Too many of our youth and young adults are looking for an “easy shortcut!” I ask myself does it have to be this way? Is that what God desires for our youth? I have to say NO! We can change all of this by changing their attitude and by changing their thinking. We must break the shackles of negative habits entering into their minds and set their minds free so they can develop a success consciousness…success awareness and a success habit and reap the reward of a successful life.

We must empower, properly develop, and nurture our youth in order to help them grow. I am mindful of proverbs 15:22 “Without counsel, plans go wrong, but with many advisors they succeed.” Every since I was a little boy my step father, John L Givens III- founder of Spirit of Truth Productions, would always quote the “6” P’s:

Proper Prior Planning Prevent Poor Performances

In order for our youth to be successful in their future lives, it begins by preventing mistakes in their thinking and actions. We, as human beings, make fewer mistakes in our thinking and our actions when we have a purpose and a direction. When we know where we are headed, and where we are going then we will learn the meaning of being successful.

If we can instill a purpose, direction and help youth know where they can go in life then our youth are able to come out from underneath hindering circumstances and start a life of prosperity.

As I close, I leave you with this…

A banana will always be a banana, a walnut will always be a walnut, and a steak will always be a steak. These things never change their form. But the most adaptable thing our creator ever created was the mind. We can change our thinking, we can change our attitudes, and we can change our actions and develop new habits that will change our results.

Every youth has a vast untapped potential… they are all sleeping giants. I ask and encourage you to join Young People Succeeding in awaking the successful sleeping giants in our youth.
